Home for the Holidays

Two and a half months flew by in Pucon! We met so many great people with amazing stories and adventures. We climbed Volcano Villarica, went hydrospeeding, canyoning, horseback riding, hiking, swimming, and hot springing. Anna and I had the opportunity to work at one of the most successful hostels in Pucon, as well as help start an amazing new hostel.
However, the best part of traveling so far was that we could come home for the holidays!
On December 20th, Anna and I took a bus from Pucon, Chile to San Martin de Los Andes, Argentina where we spent one night sleeping on the beach and another in a hostel. On the second morning, we took a bus for 23 hours to Buenos Aires so that we could catch a flight home.
It has been weird to be in the Southern Hemisphere during the precipice to the Christmas season, but it is so nice to be back. On the day we left Buenos Aires, it was about 95 degrees and the sun was up from 6am – 9:30pm. We were laying on a beach a few days ago. The Christmas season was just not the same without cold weather, snow, Christmas trees, colorful lights, and family.
Anna and I are actually going back to travel more on January 20th, 2014 for the second half of our trip. So far we have been to all the countries on the west coast of the continent: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile. When we go back, we will be flying back into Buenos Aires, Argentina and travel south to Patagonia, then come back up through Uruguay, and finish in the northern part of Brazil where we have tickets for a World Cup game.
If you are around this holiday season, let me know, but most importantly, thanks for your support.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
